Discovering the wonders of Italy: Radio 24's "Grand Tour" featured Puglia and old Bari
November 14, 2023
A "journey" through Bari Vecchia with Il Sole 24 Ore radio. Ivan Giuliani, founder of BariExperience, will tell the story of the area

Not just on the web and TV, the region also travels on the radio.
"Grand Tour ," the travel program on Radio 24 , an Italian radio station owned by the 24 ORE Group (among the 10 most listened to radio stations in Italy) , is a format that takes Italian listeners on a discovery of the wonders of our country every Sunday from 3 to 4 pm.
On Sunday, November 12th, it was the turn of Puglia and Bari. Each episode of the "journey," featuring insights and itineraries through Italy's regions, along with suggestions for what to visit and practical advice for the occasion, focused on one of Puglia's most charming towns, Bari Vecchia . I, the undersigned and founder of Bariexperience.com, shared the history and anecdotes of Bari's most characteristic neighborhood with Radio 24.
Historical notes, churches, squares, characteristic alleys, legends of old Bari were some of the topics addressed during the interview conducted by Valeria De Rosa, journalist and host of the Grand Tour , with particular attention also to the redevelopment that took place in the 90s and which, in fact, relaunched the ancient village "allowing the community of Bari to reconnect with the squares of old Bari and thousands of tourists to explore the historic center" as I stated during the broadcast.
A chat lasting several minutes that allowed the radio listeners, tuned in at that moment, to discover not only the main attractions not to be missed but also the customs and beliefs of the locals, including the inevitable street food: "because folklore is one of the aspects that is very popular among tourists and continues to generate strong curiosity and attraction" .
Once again, the spotlight is on Bari , its ancient town, and the unique features of a place that's always popular when traveling to Puglia, especially as Christmas ; yet another opportunity to visit the city of Saint Nicholas, the saint who inspired Santa Claus and who indirectly carries the name of Bari around the world.
