The Kentish plover also returns to Bari: its presence confirms the quality of the Bari coast

The Kentish plover once again chooses Bari's beaches to lay its eggs: a sign of the quality of the territory
Apparently, in recent years, even some bird species have fallen in love with Bari and its climate.
It has been learned that for some time now the Kentish Plover , this small bird recognizable by some black spots on its eyes, beak, and chest, has decided to lay its eggs on the coast south of Bari, specifically Torre Quetta (one of the city's beaches, a hub of summer nightlife) .
This phenomenon, in addition to ushering in the long-awaited spring, confirms the quality of the environment chosen by the Kentish Plover ; normally, this species, in order to nest, lays its eggs in humid and – above all – clean environments, a detail which reflects the quality of the air, water, and more generally of the surrounding environment where the eggs are placed.
Kentish Plover nesting sites influence the awarding of the coveted Blue Flag , it goes without saying that the news is by no means indifferent, especially to birdwatchers .
Furthermore, this species (unfortunately) is at risk of extinction, so knowing that Bari is contributing in some way to safeguarding their life cycle (thanks also to the local institutions that are protecting and monitoring the 15 nests found this year) can only make us all more proud of this wonderful territory .
