Petruzzelli Theater: Bari's historic theater
The Petruzzelli Theater, a journey through history and culture, through the streets of Bari's city center

The Petruzzelli theatre , built and inaugurated in the early twentieth century, is one of the Italian theatres as well as being one of the unmistakable symbols of the city of Bari .
With 1,482 seats (the fourth largest theater in Italy), the Petruzzelli has always stood out for its grandeur and capacity, providing Bari and the people of Bari with entire seasons of classical music and events of national and international importance. These include the famous musical television show "Azzurro," hosted for several consecutive years by the theater, which has also featured well-known Italian figures such as Lucio Dalla, Paolo Conte, and Ornella Vanoni.
All the beauty and variety of the Petruzzelli was abruptly interrupted on the night of October 26, 1991, when an arson attack destroyed several areas of the theatre, also causing the dome to collapse, causing great sorrow for Bari and the citizens of Bari.
After the fire, the theatre unfortunately remained closed for 18 years, only to reopen to the public on December 6, 2009, with all its splendor restored.

It is now in full operation and when you walk through the streets of the centre of Bari you can admire it along Corso Cavour .
