Lolita Lobosco 3: Where were the scenes filmed? Here are some new locations
Between old and new locations of the fiction: we retrace the fixed points of Lolita and the new scenes filmed
The popular RAI1 fiction “Le Indagini di Lolita Lobosco” , and with it all the curiosity of viewers about the of this highly followed television series were filmed .
As with the first two seasons of the series, the third was also filmed entirely in Puglia , precisely between Bari and various surrounding towns such as Conversano, Monopoli, San Vito (a hamlet of Polignano a Mare) and even Fasano , with panoramic shots also taken by drones and which regularly did not go unnoticed by the TV audience.
A little anecdote: every time Lolita is shown on TV, Bariexperience.com receives a surge in visitors searching for the film's locations. How could you not be more thrilled? Here's everything you need to know.
Lolita's House and the Cathedral of San Sabino
Lolita Lobosco 's house is located on the terrace of an old building in Piazza dell'Odegitria, the square of the splendid Romanesque cathedral of San Sabino, whose characteristic feature is its imposing bell tower overlooking old Bari .
This is one of the most important backdrops in the scenes of Lolita , particularly evident in the evening dinners on the terrace.
The interior of the police headquarters on the seafront
All meetings with the police commissioner take place inside the Palazzo della Città Metropolitana di Bari , which also houses the Pinacoteca (Art Gallery). The exterior of the police headquarters, however, is modeled after another building located in the characteristic and beautiful historic center of Monopoli : Palazzo Palmieri , which mirrors the exterior façade of the police headquarters, recognizable by its Baroque style.
Palazzo Palmieri, the exterior of the police headquarters
As mentioned in the previous photo, if the interior of the police headquarters is set in Bari, precisely inside the Palazzo della Città Metropolitana di Bari , the exterior of the police headquarters, as well as the entrance with the police cars, are part of Palazzo Palmieri , a Baroque-style building located in the heart of the historic center of Monopoli, in the province of Bari . PS: visit Monopoli because it is truly beautiful.
Lolita on the Bari seafront
The Bari waterfront is one of the most characteristic and frequently featured locations in the film, shot from right to left, top to bottom. Every corner of the waterfront is captured by the series' cameras, and not even by the protagonist, Lolita, who often relaxes during her work-related conversations with her friend or colleagues. The third season, for example, features her right from the start chatting on Largo Giannella , the roundabout on the Bari waterfront.
The place of Lolita's memories: San Vito
There are several scenes of Lolita as a child , accompanied by her father, in the waters of San Vito . San Vito is a hamlet on the outskirts of Polignano a Mare , whose imposing abbey overlooking the sea is absolutely recognizable throughout the series. The location is constantly repeated throughout the seasons, so it is impossible not to remember it or take it into consideration during a trip to the Polignano .
With Leon at the Kursaal Santalucia theatre
The Kursaal Santalucia Theatre is the new entry in the third season. A true Art Nouveau , built in 1922 and brought back to its former glory following restoration work. In the series, Lolita deepens her friendship with Leon within the walls of this theatre located on the Bari seafront . A historic structure to be admired even from its exterior (Photo: Ruggiero Di Benedetto).
The ancient church of San Martino
Once again Leon surprises Lolita by taking her to a small church that has been closed for a whopping 60 years . No, it's not just a line from the movie, but the truth. This church, in fact, despite its authenticity (it was built even before the Basilica of San Nicola) , remained abandoned for 60 years. Yet before it could be restored, it had already become a film set.
Nunzia and Carmela Lobosco's farmhouse
An enchanting and captivating place immersed in the Apulian countryside ; this is the farmhouse run in the TV series by Nunzia and Carmela Lobosco, Lolita's mother and sister. In reality, it's Masseria Trotta , a charming, traditional Apulian farmhouse nestled among the olive trees and located just 2 km from Fasano .
