This is where some scenes of "Story of a respectable family", the Canale 5 drama, were filmed
After “The Life Ahead” broadcast on Netflix and filmed with the splendid Sophia Loren , “The Investigations of Lolita Lobosco” and recently “Until the Last Heartbeat” , all films and fiction filmed in and around Bari , here is “Storia di a respectable family" , a television series inspired by the novel by the writer from Bari Rosa Ventrella and which starting from Wednesday 3 November 2021 will be broadcast in prime time on Canale5 .
The drama achieved great success (over 3 million viewers in the first episode alone) for this reason, considering the beautiful locations used for filming the Mediaset television series, here is an article where we delve into the places seen on TV, in this case 7 places of the many that emerged during the film.

1) The ancient port of Monopoli
The ancient port of Monopoli, in the province of Bari, is one of the locations that appears several times during the fiction, this is because inside the port is the boat of the protagonists of the TV series, as well as the humble family of fishermen from Bari ; we are talking about the boat of Antonio , Maria's father and head of the De Santis family .
2) The wall of old Bari
During the drama there are several shots of the splendid wall of old Bari (scenes shot mainly from above) , but also images of the same wall taken at night. In some moments the wall also becomes the location of conversations between the protagonists, such as that between the boss Nicola Straziota and Maria , in an attempt to prevent the little girl and Michele Straziota towards Milan.
3) The caves on the sea
In the fiction there is a wonderful coast that often becomes the meeting point of the two children of the respective families protagonists of the television series. This stretch of coast , characterized by small caves and a crystal clear sea , is called Cala Tre Buchi and is located in Monopoli , near another cove called Cala Copacabana ; starting from the latter mentioned you could reach, through the rocks or with a swim (therefore with quite a few difficulties) , the adjacent cove, as well as the one in the fiction .
4) The monumental entrance to the Fiera del Levante
Some scenes were filmed in this area, including a key moment of the fiction , namely the death of De Santis' son; the latter, in fact, lost his life in a road accident in an attempt to escape from the carabinieri checkpoint (located shortly after the monumental entrance to the Fiera del Levante , on the Bari seafront ) . In the roundabout opposite, however, the scene is filmed in which Michele Straziota waits in vain for Maria so that they can escape together with the collaboration of a truck driver.
5) The wall of the historic center of Monopoli
The ancient wall of the village of Monopoli is also one of the locations most frequently filmed during the fiction . It can be seen during the long walks of the very young Maria and in various moments of this channel 5 television series .
6) The cannons and the ancient defensive walls
The evocative cannons of the ancient defensive walls of Monopoli . At this point, near the Charles V castle , the very young Maria stopped several times to look at the sea and to reflect on what was happening in her life.
7) The cathedral of San Sabino
Straziota brothers are seen threatening one of the sons of the De Santis family for an allegedly stolen leather jacket; at the end of the avenue (we are in Bari Vecchia) you can glimpse the side part of the splendid Romanesque cathedral of San Sabino , whose bell tower is often framed even during shots from above of the ancient village of Bari .
